The Panel Boss is a track handling attachment designed to conveniently lift, rotate, and place railroad track panels where needed. We found the need for a safer and more efficient method of handling track panels. With the Panel Boss, a ground crew and rope are no longer needed, making laying track safer and more precise. Trusted by railroads across the country, the Panel Boss has aided in laying hundreds of miles of track.

How does it work?

The Panel Boss is controlled directly from the cab. The operator places the Panel Boss on a track panel and engages pins, the pins extend into the rails, attaching them to the device. Once the pins are secure, the excavator can lift the track panel, rotate it, and set the panel in place.

What type of panels does it work with?

Designed to lift standard 40’ track panel sections with wood ties only. It does not lift cement ties. Please see our instructional video.

Does it fit your machine?

The Panel Boss requires a 70,000 lb excavator with 2 sets of auxiliary hydraulics. Quick coupler sizes can vary on excavators, we can have the Panel Boss built to fit your machine. Please contact us for more details or questions.
